Tangent

Tangent is a lightweight lounge chair, in laminated birch wood and woven paper cord.

Birch wood is strong and flexible, and very suitable for bending and lamination, which allows it to be effectively utilized in forms that are liberated from the natural geometry of the tree.

The design is characterized by a low and laid back seating position, and an open, minimalistic construction. The armrests are thin laminated profiles, but because of their ergonomic position and rounded geometry they provide comfortable contact surfaces. The backrest, a simple sheet of wood with a generous curvature, creates a welcoming space. The wood is untreated, to maintain the direct expression of the material. 2025.
